We'd like to share some more insights top restaurants in Aljezur and around, following up on our previous post (which focused specifically on seafood). Here are some more suggestions for tasty and interesting food in our area:

In Vales, on the road between Vale da Telha and Arrifana, you can find Restaurante Vales. This restaurant has changed management in early 2024 and the menu is very interesting and varied: You'll find fusion tapas, high quality seafood delicacies with ingredients from Algarve or superb grilled meats. For lunch they have a great value day specials, 100% typical Portuguese dishes like Cozido à Portuguesa or Francesinha. Open from 7am to 12pm, you can also have a nice coffee and Pastel de Nata on your to (or back from) Arrifana for a surf session.

Taberna do Gabriel, also in Vales, re-opened recently as is also serving typical Portuguese dishes and ligher fare like snacks and sandwiches.

Mádá Aljezur is another new kid on the block. On the road to Lagos just outside Aljezur you'll find this steakhouse. We haven't been yet but hear nice things about it.

And the last one of this post is again related to fish and seafood. We missed it in our previous post focused on these dishes. It is one of the oldest and most known restaurants in the whole Costa Vicentina. A bit further North from Aljezur, above the town of Odeceixe, in Azenha do Mar you'll find the aptly named Restaurante A Azenha do Mar. Fresh fish on the grill, many times locally sourced from the little fishing port, as well as other seafood dishes are amazing. Better to book in advance as it can get quite busy. The are has amazing views and is worth a visit just for that. There's also another little café/restaurant nearby which will most likely have fresh fish too, check it out. That's it for now, we'll be back with more insights about Aljezur and around soon!
